March 3, 1876
Born in the village of Pakoshivka in Lemkivschyna region, his father was the ambassador to the Galician Assembly. He obtained his education in Yaslo.

Served in the Austrian army, graduated from Officer’s School

Studied Philosophy and Theology at St. Josaphat’s College in Rome

Completed his Doctorate in Philosophy

Completed his Doctorate in Theology

Ordained to the priesthood

1907 – 1911
Vice-rector and professor of Theology at Stanislaviv seminary

October 2, 1911
Entered the Basilian Order

Professed his temporary vows

Teacher of Theology at the Basilian Monastery in Lavrov

1914 – 1916
During the war he travelled to Moravia, where he was the temporary rector of the Greek Catholic seminary in Kromierzhyzhi.

Ordained to the episcopacy

September 23, 1917
Appointed bishop of Przemysl, Sambir and Sianots

During the time of his episcopacy he renewed and made more active Marian and prayer apostolates, promoted the development of Catholic Action, and blessed the founding of a new women’s religious community (Sisters of St. Joseph the Spouse of the Virgin Mary), to whom he provided much care and support.

Arrested in Przemysl and imprisoned in Riasheva until January 17, 1946

January 18 to 24, 1946
Deported to the territory of the USSR, where he was held in an NKVD prison

January 24, 1946
Returned to Przemysl

June 25, 1946
Second arrest and deportation to Lviv. Later he was put into a Kyiv prison.

November 17, 1947
Died in a prison in Kyiv

April 24, 2001
