February 4, 1921
Born in the village of Borzhavske (Vynohradivsk district, Transcarpathia region). Completed his primary education in the local village school (5 grades), and continued his studies at the Vynohrad City School and afterwards the Gymnasium.

1941-1946
Studied at the Uzhhorod Seminary. In 1942, during vacation, was arrested for “underground nationalist activity” but was set free in the same year due to the amnesty.

August 17, 1946
Ordained deacon by Bishop Theodore (Romzha).

August 18, 1946
Ordained priest by Bishop Theodore (Romzha).

November 1, 1946 - February 1949
Pastor of Dormition of the Mother of God Church in the city of Rachiv.

March 1951
Arrested.

1952-1955
Served his sentence at a camp in the city of Omsk. Worked as a laborer at the brick factory.

September 8 (10), 1955
Released. Returned home. Worked as a laborer in the grape industry until his retirement (1956-1983). At the same time, he conducted active pastoral work.

November 10, 1987
Ordained bishop by Bishop Sofron (Dmyterko) for Greek Catholics in Transcarpathia.

1980s
Actively worked for the legalization of the Greek Catholic Church in Ukraine. Took part in the bishops’ trip to Moscow.

1989
Auxiliary bishop for the Greek Catholic Mukachivo eparchy .
Hryhorii (Khomyshyn)
1867-1947

March 25, 1867
Born in the village of Hadynkivtsi, (Kopychensk district, currently Husyatyn district, Ternopil region).

1888
Completed the Ternopil Gymnasium.

1888-1893
Studied at the Lviv Seminary.

November 18, 1893
Ordained priest, afterwards served in Stanislav (present-day Ivano-Frankivsk).

1894-1899
Studied at the Viennese Augustinium. At the same time, served as pastor at the Greek Catholic Church, St. Barbara’s in Vienna.

February 21, 1899
Received doctoral degree in Theology.

1899
Catechist at the Stanislav city schools.

1901-1902
Parish Administrator in Kolomyia, catechist at the Gymnasium.

1902-1904
Rector of the Lviv Seminary.

April 16, 1904
Named Bishop of Stanislav.

June 19, 1904
Ordained and installed as bishop at the Stanislav Cathedral. Fruitful episcopal service for 35 years.

1939
First arrest. Later released.

April 15, 1945
Arrested in Stanislav.

April – December 1945
Served time in the Lukianiv prison in Kyiv.

December 28, 1945
Died at the infirmary of Lukianiv Prison. Place of burial unknown.

1995
Rehabilitated by the government of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region.

2001
Beatified.
