June 26, 1921 Born in the village of Mala Kopania (Vynohradivsk district, Transcarpathia region) to a large family. 1927-1934 Studied at the village elementary school. 1934-1942 Studied at the Khust Gymnasium. 1942-1947 Studied at the Uzhhorod Seminary with a brief interruption in 1945, when he participated in officers’ training in Czechoslovakia, during the mobilization of the army. June 25, 1947 Ordained deacon by Bishop Theodore (Romzha). July 6, 1947 Ordained priest by Bishop Theodore (Romzha). 1947 Regent of the seminary choir, notary for the Mukachivo eparchy. From August, administrator for the village of Nehrovets (Mizhirski district). from 1949 Began his underground pastoral work. His official state jobs included chauffeur, dispatcher, and technical auto worker . Was called in for questioning by the KGB. August 24, 1978 Ordained bishop by Bishop Oleksandr (Khira). 1988-1989 Participated in the bishops’ trip to Moscow regarding the legalization of the Greek Catholic Church in Ukraine. 1989 Bishop of the Greek Catholic eparchy of Mukachivo
