A priest of the Basilian Order born in Ivai, Brazil, he studied theology at Rome’s Gregorian University and the history of the Eastern Churches at the Pontifical Oriental Institute (POI). In 1976 he defended his doctoral thesis entitled An Outline of the Legislation of the Basilian Order of St. Josaphat (being prepared for publication). He is the author of a series of articles on the history of the Basilian Order, editor of numerous books from the Basilian publishing house in Rome and also an archeographer. (He published a series of documents on the history of the Ukrainian Church, which can be found in Vatican archives). |
