Currently a research fellow of the Institute of History at the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) in Warsaw, she was born in Jelena Gura. From 1971 to 1976 she studied at Warsaw University and defended her masters thesis on the patriotism and ethical consciousness of Wilhelm of Malme. She received her doctoral degree in History in 1982 at the PAS Institute of History. She wrote her dissertation on the national consciousness of the Ukrainian nobility in the first half of the 18th Century. It was published in 1985. In 1995 she defended her thesis with the monograph Rzeczpospolita VII wieku w oczach cudzoziemc_w (1993 and 1994 editions).
She has published dozens of scholarly articles and reviews on the modern history of Poland, Ukraine and Belarus. She is the author and host of historical programs on Polish radio and a member of the Polish-Ukrainian Historical Committee. |
