http://www.oaforum.org/otherfiles/berl_bs_rb_tools.ppt
Project The Oral History of UGCC promoted the idea of open access to its archive via Internet from the very beginning. Although, this fact does not suppose that the whole information of Institute's archive will be available to users through Internet. We plan to join the Open Archive system gradually taking into account the different juridical aspects and international experience of the Oral History Archives and Institutions that deal with open archives network. On the first stage, we intend to provide the Internet access to ICH Oral History Photo-DATABASE. As a result of this project, all interested users will be able to find information about a particular photo (thanks to description part) and to see its preview. It will be possible to order the image, scanned with 600 dpi, at the Institute.

The next forum that will happen in Great Britain, September 2003, will give a possibility to become acquainted with practical recommendations and achievements concerning organization of an open archive. System administrators, DATABASE programmers, computer project coordinators are welcome to partake in this workshop. It is a good opportunity to get a valuable experience for those who are involved in such projects that helps to evaluate critically own achievements and analyse some methodological aspects of completed peace of work.

The Institute of Church History celebrates the tenth anniversary of its founding
In the fall of 2002 the Institute of Church History celebrated the tenth anniversary of its founding. This date became an occasion to analyze our achievements, summarize our activities, and to think over future prospects and ways to realize our new initiatives and projects.

Several events dedicated to the anniversary were held in October. On October 9, the Institute was visited by its benefactors, Stephanie Szypula and Jaroslawa and Alexander Gudziak. A memorial table blessed during the Divine Liturgy was set near the portrait of the Institute's supporter Stephanie Szypula on the door of the ICH research room.

On October 11, former and present employees of the Institute gathered together for the inauguration of the ICH's new director. ICH founding director Fr. Borys Gudziak, now rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University, expressed his gratitude for ten years of cooperation and passed the authority in the Institute to the new director, Oleh Turiy.

On October 24, the ICH held an open house. To present its work, the Institute organized tours, a showing of the film Living History, and a conference for guests, staff and students of UCU. That same day, the visit of Cardinal Walter Kasper and the presentation of his book Jesus the Christ took place. The cardinal and other guests were acquainted with the Institute's activities, projects and its museum exhibition about the underground UGCC.

One of the fruits of the ICH anniversary is a booklet with information about the history, staff, structure, fields of activity, projects and achievements of the Institute since its founding.
